troubling travels

This evening I biked to town to mail a postcard.
The bike ride in was wonderful, for the most part.
A little bit of too much off roading for my cruiser but no big deal.
So, I get to town 5 kilometers later, get a stamp, put some air in my tires, cross the highway, mail that shit at Canada Post, and onward James I was.
Re-crossed the highway and was on the merriest of ways accompanied by lemonade.
Thank you snapple.
Without adieu this is where things turn terrible.
On the first turn homeward (cottage bound) my tire is soundin' a little funny.
But I continue to ride, smiling.
Suddenly? Kind of... The tire became lodged into my mudguard and chain completely disabling my bike. Luckily I wasn't going fast.
I locked my bike to a tree and started walking.
Now, I love walks.
Walk here, walk there, walk to the electric chair, I love walks.
This walk would have been loved.
But it wasn't.
A blackfly pharaoh'd me out as his victim.
For 5 kilometers.
I think I will lay off on the postcards for the rest of vacation.
